Subtracting Decimals

Subtract decimals the same way you add decimals. Line up the decimal points. Then subtract the numbers as usual.

Be sure the decimal point lines up at the same place in the answer.

To subtract 5.5 - 4.28 change 5.5 to 5.50 and line up the decimal points.
